Kelli Thompson and Tracy Piche are a camp counsellors at Two Islands Weekend, an annual camp for grownups. Here, they write about their food hero, camp leader Danielle Goldfinger, and why they are supporting Community Food Centres Canada this holiday season:
Danielle Goldfinger is a gatherer in every sense of the word! She is our fearless leader at Two Islands Weekend and for the past four summers has brought together many amazing chefs in the community to cook and share their culinary gifts with hungry campers from across Ontario and beyond!
This amazing weekend was cooked up by Danielle herself while reminiscing with a pal about how much she missed summers away at camp as a kid. Through her vision, tireless work, and the uncanny ability to gather the best chefs and counsellors to help her carry out camp for grown-ups, Danielle has created one super tasty, super awesome, super magical weekend and that’s why she’s #myfoodhero!
This holiday season, we're celebrating #myfoodhero, Danielle, with a donation to Community Food Centres Canada to support their work bringing the power of food to low-income communities. We hope you'll consider making a donation in honour of your food hero, too.
Thanks to Kelli and Tracy for making a donation to the #myfoodhero campaign, which supports Community Food Centres Canada to offer empowering food programs that build better health, skills, and belonging in the communities that need it most. Join Kelli and Tracy by making a donation today!
